Personal Statement
One of my collegiate goals is to first get into a college to study science and physical medicine. My long-term goal is to become a physiatrist – a doctor of physical medicine. I plan to study and pass the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and to enroll into medical school. I am a student athlete, committed to both my academics and sport at all times; however, football is not just a sport to me, it is my passion. I have disciplined myself for football and I work hard every play, every down - taking no plays off.
First, I am respectful to my parents, teachers, coaches, and peers. Healthy friend selection is essential to me. I choose friends who have similar goals and who strive for excellence, just as I do. I stay away from teenagers who are a bad influence, who get into trouble, and have the potential to distract me from my goals. Second, I am also a team player and strive to help my teammates succeed and achieve their goals. I am just as excited when teammates reach their potential as when I reach mine. Third, I am also a team leader who takes initiative on and off the field, who is coachable, and at the end of the day, wants to win.
I train and practice hard and play just as hard in games, if not more. In like manner, I study hard and I expect great academic success. God has blessed me with athleticism that I choose to invest into the sport of football. With the intelligence He has given me, I choose to apply to the field of physical medicine to help enhance the physical life of others.
I have two working parents who I extensively support around the home, even when I would rather go out and enjoy social activities. This disciplined lifestyle I include in my training and diet; I monitor my diet and consistently work out to improve myself on the field.
I look forward to being discovered by a college that best suits my academic and athletic future.
