Personal Statement

At the age of 4, I talked my parents into changing my birthday so I could play my first season of flag football.  What I never anticipated is how much I loved to play the game.  At the end of the season, I was named to the all-star team and have been hooked ever since.

As I aged, my attitude and love surrounding the game became more intense and people began asking me about where wanted to play in college.  I felt that football never came easy to me at first, but the more I would practice and study the game, it started to become a little bit easier.  I found that I loved the process of becoming a better player,  just as much as the actual games.  I felt for the first time that football gave me my identity and gave me a chance to learn skills like leadership, toughness, commitment, integrity and perseverance.   

When I’m not playing football, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, playing basketball, and video games.  I am also hoping to become a youth flag football coach in the summer.  

I am also striving for excellence in the classroom.  I made a commitment to my parents that I would work harder in the classroom and staying in the 3.0 -3.2 range this school year.  I know that good grades is just as important in the classroom, just like the football field.  I'm excited to continue growing and learning and developing both on and off the football field.
