Personal Statement
Dear Respected Coaches,
My name is Grant Bimstefer. My Lacrosse Team mates like to call me "Bim." I have had a lacrosse stick in my hand playing since I was 5 years old along with my brothers. My Dad played D1 lacrosse back in the day and brought us up to train hard and love the game while honoring our American Indian heritage. I have always played the position of Attack. I have equally strong left and right hands and I have almost always worked as a dodger / feeder from X although i can play right / left or crease. At this point, my left and right hands are equal in strength. It's funny that many defensemen ask me when the game is done, "what hand are you?" Frankly, there is absolutely nothing more exciting to me than being on the lacrosse field and competing as a unit with my teammates for the win!!! I love everything about the game ... dodging to score, dodging to feed and winning as a team!!! In fact, when I am not on the field, I am hitting the wall early in the mornings, hitting the speed bag to increase hand quickness, strength training with my Dad and speed training with Troy Jones at TZ Sports training. Even more, Me, my Dad and my older Brother, Weston attend as many games as possible. We do this with two goals in mind: Spending time together and learn as much as possible about the game we enjoy.
I am interested in studying Business Administration, Business Management in College and/or Information Systems. I excel in these courses in High School and I believe that I can be successful in once i enter the work world. I am currently a 2 year member of the FBLA, Future Business Leaders of America.
Last year, my Junior year, I transferred to Calvert Hall College High School. I was honored to be recruited by several MIAA-A / MIAA-B level teams. I decided to attend Calvert Hall and play for Coach Kelly / Coach Kasemeyer. I have personally trained with Coach Kasemeyer for 4 years now and he has caused me to become a better more complete lacrosse player who can play X, the wing (right or left) as well as the crease. Calvert Hall has been a huge leap from public school, and I am enjoying the challenge both educationally as well as athletically. I am looking forward to playing in the MIAA-A Division again this year, 2015.
I posses a strong work ethic both while on the field and while on my own, I am extremely coachable and I pride myself on setting a good example both on and off the field.
I also have an older Brother, Weston Bimstefer, who is a 2015 defensemen who will be playing lacrosse at the DII powerhouse University of Tampa. My brother, Weston is a winner, and i am certain that he will do extremely well there ... check out his Weston's NCSA Profile too. He also has a Short HighLight Video as well as an Extended HighLight Video
Thank You For Your Consideration ... please check out my events schedule & come see me play!!!
Let me know your coming, i would love to shake hands and say hello.
All The Best,
Grant Bimstefer
