Personal Statement
Ever since I was a little kid I knew that I wanted to play football when I grew up, who doesn't? It is the greatest game on earth! I have since then been training diligently towards that goal, the goal of playing football at the collegiate level. My aspiration is to find a "home", a school that fits into my life like it was meant to be there. One that will provide me the opportunity to be a part of an amazing football family, as well as allow me to achieve my academic aspiration of obtaining a degree that I can use in life. My area of study will be either biomechanics, or sports medicine.
I currently am a Junior, and have a starting role in the Highlands Defensive line. We train 11 months out of the year as a team. I am committed to working as hard as I can to become a better athlete, team player and leader. In my off season I also train with a speed/agility/strength coach to prepare for combines/camps, such as the Nike Sparq Combine. I think that attending those events gives me the opportunity to see where I measure up against other athletes in my position. It also gives me the areas where I need to train harder, bigger, faster. I want to be competitive, you have to be in order to make it to the next level. I am willing to put in the work, I have been doing that for years. I would be a great asset to your team, I am hard working, a fast learner, respectful, reliable and last but not least dedicated. Being a part of an amazing high school football organization has prepared me to be a top performer in my position, it is also allowing me the opportunity to prepare for the next level, not only in football but in life as well.
Off the field I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. This year I am taking one AP class, as well as two advanced classes. My schedule has proven to be very difficult to juggle in the beginning of the year, between school and football. However I think that I am handling it well, I am in a good routine. I am very committed to success on and off the field. I am also a part of the Duke University TIP program, that has given me many academic advantages to prepare for the ACT. I was also able to take the ACT as a seventh grader. It was a great experience, a good way to see what you need to prepare for in the future.
Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to meeting with you in the near future.
