Personal Statement

My name is Cruze Miethke. I am 15 years old and a freshman at DeSoto County High School in Arcadia, Florida. I was born in Queensland, Australia, and relocated with my family to Florida just over three years ago. I’ve been playing football for three years and immediately fell in love with the sport. This will be my fourth year playing.

I’m a Varsity starter on the offensive line and defensive line, currently playing offensive guard and D-Tackle. I also contribute as a long snapper. I have a martial arts background and have been practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) since I was five, competing in tournaments all over Australia. I still train in BJJ in my spare time, which has taught me discipline both mentally and physically.

I’m passionate about contact sports and have learned a lot about football in a relatively short period. This school year, I’ve been fully committed to my high school football program, as well as other sports that keep me active. Outside of football season, I stay in shape by participating in my school’s JV basketball team, Varsity weightlifting team, and Varsity track and field. I recently broke the school’s freshman record for discus throwing with a distance of 29.35 meters.

My goal is to maintain a GPA above 3.77 and pursue a future in football at the next level. I’m a hardworking, dedicated, and coachable athlete, and I’m eager for the opportunity to show what I can bring to the field. I’m excited to see what the next three years of football have in store and look forward to continuing to grow as a student-athlete while learning new skills along the way.
