Personal Statement

I have been blessed with the talent and athletic ability to be a complete running back. I have excellent speed, which allows me to get outside but I also have had great success running inside. I have great balance and am able to follow my blocks and play off the blockers’ hips. I have the ability to hit the hole hard but also the patience to wait for my blocks. I am very agile and have a very quick first step. I can flow with the play anticipate an opening, put my foot in the dirt and get up field quickly. I can slide and change direction with smoothness and at the same time, always moving in a north/south direction. I am very seldom taken down on initial contact and actually can move the pile with consistency and always gain extra yards. I averaged over 5 yards per carry this year on the ground.

I was very successful as a slot receiver because of my ability to get up in the air and make difficult catches. I am a very good route runner and have deceptive quickness and breakaway speed. I am shifty, with good field and peripheral vision. I love the receiver position because most safeties and linebackers can’t match my speed. I have the ability to make the first defender miss and especially effective in space. I averaged more than 40 yards on kickoff returns. I played on all the special teams units and led the team in tackles on special teams. Lead blocking and pass blocking come very natural to me. Great hands, ball security, good field vision, and the ability to anticipate are all assets that I can bring to the field. I have great mechanics and technique, am intelligent, disciplined, and coachable. I have a desire to be great and am willing to work extra hard for greatness.

My high school, Riverview, has always been in a division of future SEC athletes. We always played very good teams from Tampa and Miami, huge schools, by enrollment, compared to ours. Teams with outstanding talent, Manatee high School, Venice High School, Palmetto High School, and Southeast High School, to name a few. I am very accustomed to playing against very talented athletes. It is my hope I can be a contributor and an asset to the coaches, the team and the school. There is no doubt in my mind, I have the tools needed and can be a positive addition and really contribute to a college football program. I can honestly say, I will bring a lot to this team and you will be surprised and pleased.

My goals and dreams are actually simple. I want to have a life that is the result of hard work, dedication, and doing the right things. I want to do things honestly and with integrity. I believe I can achieve anything I choose and put my mind to. I have been exposed to a very wide-ranging set of experiences, some challenging, some great, some hard and some easy but all had life's lessons. I think the more we are exposed to when we are young the better prepared we are to meet the world head on. I want to be comfortable financially and be able to provide a solid foundation for my family and their future families. I am not afraid to work hard and will do everything it takes to reach those goals.
