Personal Statement
I have been recruited by the head coach of basketball program of Beloit College.. Now, I'm playing basketball for Beloit College..
-----------------
This is Ege Ozcan. I am international senior student who is currently studying at Andrews Osborne Academy (AOA) Willoughby, Ohio . My graduation date is May 2013. I am also a member of that high school varsity boys’ basketball team and in the parallel, I play basketball for a team representing the SPIRE Institute (Geneva, Ohio), which is one of the largest indoor, multi-sport, training, competition complexes and post grad prep sports academy in the world (http://www.spireinstitute.org/). I play basketball for both of these teams together with very busy schedules. Probably, I will have played 65-70 games till at the end of this season. I am 6'7" and weigh 185lbs. I play as power forward and can be a shooting forward as well. Because I am from Europe and I was raised by European basketball culture, my view of the game is different from the others in my team. I can see the floor as a guard and can get the responsibility if needed. I came to USA to play college basketball in high-level, but academics are very important for me also. I played high-level basketball in Turkey. I started to play when I was 6. I played in pro club teams. I didn't make any money cause I just played in youth teams. I played for my high school basketball team as well. When I was an exchange junior student in Parkersburg South High School and also a member of it’s varsity boys’ basketball team in West Virginia last year, Spire Sports Academy have contacted with me to recruit their high school basketball program that is created with Spire and AOA together. After long negotiations, my parents and I have accepted their offer, which was quite convinced. So far so good to me, I’m having lots of experiences, doing workout a lot and playing basketball for both teams. I got 4.0 GPA last year. My ACT best score is 24 out of 36 and SAT best score is 1.100 out of 1600 (math 590, reading 510, writing 420). I think I will graduate with 3.8 GPA from AOA in May 2013. My stats after 10 games; http://highschoolsports.cleveland.com/player/ege-ozcan/ This is news about me in Parkersburg News and Sentinel (please look at the second news); http://newsandsentinel.com/page/content.detail/id/568761/Two-days-of-hoop-madness.html?nav=5064 My goal is to play high level NCAA basketball in a college whose academics are really good since I want to study Computer Engineering, Computer Science and/or Business Management.
