Personal Statement

 
My name is Braden Altena and I am from St. Cloud, MN. I graduated in 2015. I am  5’8” and play center and left wing. In 2012 I earned a spot in the MN High Performance 15 Summer Camp, this is the top 102 15 year olds in Minnesota. In 2014 I earned a spot in the High Performance 17 Spring Festival. Coaches at camps have told me that I am a fast, crafty player that sees the ice well. Since that time, I have received invites to several post season tournaments. I participated in the Gopher State Festival in 2013 and 2014. In 2015, I was selected for the MN Ted Brille Great Eight Festival.
 
In school and on the ice I have always been recognized for my hard work. I am consistently early for practices and games. In school my work ethic helped me earn a 4.1 Cumumlative GPA and graduated with Highest Honors.
 
 
I am looking for a college with a high education standard. I am interested in schools anywhere in the US. Financial assistance will be important to me in the college selection process. Ideally I would like to be at a program where I can grow as a hockey player and leader; and make a positive contribution to my team.
