Personal Statement
My name is Allyson Funk and I consider myself to be a very well-rounded and ambitious person. Not only do I excel in softball, I also strive academically. First and foremost my schooling is my top priority and that is reflected in my 3.83 GPA. .I’m very goal oriented and I push myself to succeed in all that I do. I am able to take on a leadership role when it is necessary, and I’m very encouraging on and off the field. I like to be involved in my school and in the community; I partake in Young Life and Habitat for Humanity. I’m very compassionate about the well-being of others, which is why I want to pursue a career in human services. I want to major in education and receive a bachelor’s degree as well as a master’s. I come from a faith-based family, and they have instilled good values in me. I have a good work ethic and I’m an over achiever, and a bit of a perfectionist, not to mention I’m my hardest critic. My relationship with softball is like one of a marriage. I play all year-round, be it high school, travel, fall ball and winter conditioning, therefore I am very committed. Softball is something I am truly passionate about, although I do play all year, it never once has been tiring to me. I play because I want to play and it has never once been forced. If you’re looking for someone who is hard-working, a team player, determined and compassionate then I’d love to have the opportunity to be a part of your team. Thank you for taking the time to read my bio.
