Personal Statement

I am and have been a multi-sport athlete that has played on school and club, travelling teams in football, lacrosse, ice hockey and soccer.  I started playing soccer at age 4 and joined Surf Soccer Club at age 6 where I progressed as an impact player on Surf’s top teams, including Surf’s USSDA team, through U15.  I was primarily a striker, wing and right back on Surf teams that won two California State Championships, many  tournaments of the highest level and at times the team was ranked No. 1 in the USA.  During the 4th – 8th grade school years, I also played on my school’s flag football, soccer and basketball teams as well as club lacrosse for Mad Dog SD.  As likely happens to many young athletes, I made a difficult decision to stop playing for the USSDA in order to pursue my desire to play multiple sports in my high school years. 

For the last three years, I have played club lacrosse on the Mad Dog West Elite team.   In 2017-19, based on playing roller hockey in the street with my dad and some league ice hockey, I played for the San Diego Saints Single A ice hockey travel team.  For the past three years, I have been playing for Cathedral Catholic high school Football team (D-1AA) and Lacrosse team.

My most recognizable assets are my speed/quickness and athleticism.  I have been complemented for demonstrating “vision” and an ability to read and anticipate plays and movement.  I like to watch and study professional and collegiate teams in football, lacrosse, soccer and ice hockey.  Some comments that I received from coach evaluations are that I am a consistent, strong offensive and defensive player within the same sport that maintains composure in high pressure situations.  One belief and commitment that I have gained from my coaches is that when playing at a high level, team success comes from understanding your role and successfully performing your responsibilities; if everyone does that, then the team will succeed.
