Personal Statement

My name is Lucas Uzcategui. I am a 6’4” 200 lbs. wide receiver at El Camino High School, a Division 1 program in the Avocado League in Southern California. My goals are to play at the next level in a situation where teammates have similar goals to mine and where I can make an impact on the team while also completing my college degree. I am interested in a college environment that provides a balance of academics and athletics and also offers me the opportunity to pursue a career in sports medicine.

I began my athletic journey when I was 6 years old as a competitive gymnast. I competed for 6 years. This provided a foundation of physical strength and body control, mental toughness and discipline, and the ability to be “coachable.” I have done my best to transfer all of these traits, initially to Pop Warner, and, on to high school football.
