Personal Statement

My name is Emma Finnerty and I'm graduating in 2024 from New Canaan High School in CT. I'm an Outside Back and Outside Midfielder with experience playing the left flank both offensively and defensively.  

I started playing soccer at age four and truly love the game. I began club soccer with NASA Tophat and have been playing year-round since. After moving to CT and joining the ECNL league, I work continuous hours to grow my skills and serve as a 4th Year Captain of my CFC United club team and Captain of my High School Varsity team, all while earning a 3.93 GPA.

My dream is to play college soccer at the highest level and win a national championship. I love the challenge of playing against elite competition and I’m willing to put in the work to succeed. I set high goals for myself and push myself to achieve them. My education is also very important to me. I’m a driven student-athlete and will stay dedicated to my studies and soccer in college.

I’m a versatile player with very strong technical skills and a powerful natural left foot. My work ethic, leadership, and positive attitude set me apart. On the field, I stand out because of my speed, endurance, and consistent shot strength and accuracy with both feet. 

I look forward to continuing my passion and bringing it to a great college team!
