Personal Statement

Dear Prospective Coach:

     My name is Devin Talkington. I am a 5'10" 280lb Football Player. I started playing tackle football at 8 years old and during my 6 years in youth football was blessed to have won 4 Championships during that time. My Freshman year in high school I was the coaching staffs unanimous choice to be called up to Varsity for the 19/20 playoffs. Since then I have been the starting Center on Varsity and play Defensive Tackle. I am and have always been a student of this game that I love. I study NFL, College and High School film as often as I can. I have a very high football IQ and I use that blessed gift  to assist my teammates in helping them to understand concepts and assignments. I volunteer my free time to coach the Varsity Youth Football team as an Offensive Line Coach.  I am also a student and Nationally ranked long snapper by Chris Rubio Long Snapping. My main attributes are my work ethic, intelligence, leadership and desire to win. I love to be physical and dominant on the field and I am developing a passion for the weight room. I am a person that is strong in my faith and I am of good moral character. I know that I will make a good addition to the right School's football and overall community.

     First and foremost I am  student. I work as hard on my academics as I do on my football craft. I love science and math and I work hard to excel in every class that I take. I push myself by taking honors and AP classes. My current cumulative GPA is 4.1 and I am working  towards earning National Honor Society recognition as well as being the top Academic Student Athlete in my High School.
