Personal Statement

I am 6'2" 175 lb left handed pitcher.  I will begin my Junior year at Southlake Carroll High School (Dallas-Ft. Worth area) this Fall.  My fastball tops out at 87 mph.  I also throw a curve ball, change-up and cut fastball.  I have been on my high school varsity baseball team since my freshman year.  I have the honor of being the only freshman to make the varisty team in Carroll High School history.  The last two summer seasons I have played on the Dbat Mustang Team coached by Jack Sharpe.  I have led the team in wins, strikeouts and ERA each of those seasons.

During the summers I have pitched in many national tournamentrs throughout the country.  A few of the tournaments are as follows:  USSSA National Tournament, Triple Crown National Tournament, Premier National Tournament, AABC World Series, and the Perfect Game Tournament in Atlanta.  The following was posted on the Perfect Game website regarding my performance.

"Tyler Alexander (2013 LHP, Soutlake Carrol HS, Southlake, TX) sat at 83-86mph while topping out at 86mph, his curveball topped out at 71mph and his changeup topping out at 75mph.  Alexander has good command, is around the plate with all his pitches, effectively pithches inside, shows control of both sides of the plate, with effortless arm action, good extension out front, has a quick arm, and arm that works well, with armside run on his fastball, with heavy sink on his fastball, a good deceptive changeup and a balanced deceptive delivery."

I am open to play baseball at a school of any size and I am not limited by geography.  I am looking for a school that meets my academic and baseball needs.   At this time, I am interested in studying Business, Marketing, and Finance.  I am looking to be part of a baseball team where I can contribute soon and be part of a championship team.

I look forward to talking with you soon.

Regards,

Tyler Alexander
