Personal Statement

My name is Richard Sweeney and my goals are to play college football and get my masters in business and engineering. I will be a great collegiate football player because I am an exceptional athlete with years of experience and I communicate well on the field.  My best student qualities are my hunger for knowledge and my work ethic, they keep me focused for success. Football has taught me many life lessons such as to never give up when times are hard and fight through bad days and games because life is a game in many ways and I am a winner. What I can offer the game of football is desire, I have an undying passion that keeps me competing and keeps me engaged in learning about how to be the best in football and in life itself. I keep playing the game of football because it teaches me more and more about life and how to work as a team with others.  This COVID 19  season has been the greatest teacher so far, it has taught me to stay diligent and active with what I have built academically and athletically. It also taught me to teach others and train their bodies and minds, I have had the opportunity to train others and get them to play their positions with skill and passion. I have had some hard times  but I will have the last laugh because my grind will tell the true story about me.
