Personal Statement
My name is Abby Watson, and I am a Setter/DS for the class of 2021. I have played volleyball for 7 years, making it a huge part of who I am and who I hope to be. When I step into the gym, I am not only trying to become a better player, but also a better teammate, and a better person. I am an extremely versatile player, being able to play any position at any given time, if necessary.
For the past 3 years, I have been playing at the varsity level at Union High School (4aghls) in Vancouver, WA. In 2015, my 12 Rox team with Excel NW Volleyball Club went to the Junior Nationals in New Orleans. In 2017, I was selected as all tournament team Libero in the 14 Open Division at the Emerald City Classic in Seattle, WA.
I am searching for the best blend of high level volleyball and academic excellence. I am an AP and Honors student, and am currently in the fall semester of my junior year with a 4.0 (unweighted) GPA. I love to compete, and also want to be academically challenged in biology, specifically marine biology. I play, practice and study with all I’ve got.
