Personal Statement
I’m a 2022 grad, 2 sport athlete. I play football and baseballI started playing "competitive" baseball at the age of 5 with kids much older than myself since there were no teams at that age group. I held my own with these older kids and my 2 older brothers which made my parents and coaches think I had real potential. In grade school and middle school I also played football and basketball. By the time I got to the 8th grade I realized that baseball was going to be my passion and dropped basketball to focus all winter on baseball workouts. Baseball is the sport that I now live to play almost year round. I can only hope that being a college baseball student athlete helps me achieve a very import goal that i have set for myself and family.
I would love to receive a great college education and someday join the workforce upon graduating and be a productive member of society. Along the way, I would love to catch and play at a competitive baseball program where I can help my team go as far as possible and achieve our teams goals. I look forward to the challenge of having my coaches and teammates make me the best player I can be and I'll gladly do my part of being a good, supportive teammate. What sets me apart from your average college baseball athlete, I won't lose sight of the reason I'm there in the first place, to get an education. I understand it is a privilege and a honor to represent myself my team and my university. I'm aware that my grades are extremely important and I will have to balance this with a very busy athletic schedule. My parents and two older brother are my support staff and I can always count on them to keep me grounded and focused. I look forward to meeting this challenge head on! If I were able to continue a baseball career past my college years, that would be a blessing as well. I’ve attached a recent article that I appeared in.
