Personal Statement

Hello Coach,

My name is Hannah Farley, a 2020 RHP playing for Firecrackers 14A, who is dedicated to the game of softball. I have been playing for 7 years and love every part of the game.

I started pitching when I was 10 years old, but didn’t get serious mound time until I was 12. Watching other girls get the chance to pitch drove me to become better. I  adamantly worked hard to become noticed and define myself as a pitcher. Working with my pitching coach I developed power and explosiveness, but still needed game time to develop my ability. In the last couple of years, I have succeeded and surpassed the goal to be noticed. Moving to my current team was a hard decision to make as I had to leave my friends to pursue my goal of pitching with a new group of girls. It was the best decision I have made since taking up the game when I was 7.

I have defined myself as a starter and the ‘Go To’ pitcher in tough games. I continue to work my hardest and tend to work very well in high-pressure situations. I still work hard, to extend my goal of being noticed to getting better and being the pitcher batters don’t want to see. I have always dreamed of playing softball in college and I strive to that level of greatness. I know it will take a lot of hard work and dedication, but so did getting noticed and earning my shot. I put both into what I do.

Outside of softball, I enjoy skiing, hiking, and I love being in the mountains. Living in Colorado remarkably provides the ability to enjoy all of those things. The outdoors inspire me to take pictures and learn more about photography.
