Personal Statement
Winning ASA Maryland States has been the highlight of my softball career, along with being a full time starter on varsity for my high school my freshman and sophomore years. I have been playing softball for eleven years, six of which have been on a travel team. Throughout these many years of playing, I have learned many life lessons. I have learned to never take anything for granted because at any point, that can be taken away from you. I have also learned about the importance of teamwork, commitment, and sacrifice. Without the team, the game could not be played, without commitment you will not be able to get better, and without sacrifice you will not be able to reach your goals. These vital aspects have given me the amazing opportunity to improve myself not only as a softball player, but as a person all together.
I am interested in colleges that will not only fit me athletically, but also academically. I would like attend a pre-professional or pre-medicine program, in order to become a physical therapist or an orthopedic surgeon in order to help others get to be the best condition that they can be. I greatly value my education. I am a strong believer that in order to be considered a student-athlete, you must be a student first then an athlete. I believe that I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but that I also have the work-ethic and leadership skills to make a positive impact on your program.
