Personal Statement
Aloha, my name is Jordyn Lono. I will be graduating with the class of 2019 and softball is my passion. I enjoy throwing out quick runners from third base and facing the best pitchers. I love to hit! I am a power hitter who can hit to all fields. I'm a patient hitter and tend to get walked a lot. I enjoy running bases so I'll take a walk. But if there's a situation where we need a run I'll open up my zone and try to drive it in.The people that influence me as a person and as an athlete is my family, my teammates, and my coaches. I started playing softball when i was 5 years old. Playing this sport taught me that whenever you make an error, you just have to flush it and try again. Not only in the game but also in life. If you make a mistake you can't let it get into your mind, letting yourself esteem bring you down because of a simple mistake. I learned that nobody is perfect and everyone makes mistakes, so you just have to get back up and try again. For high school I'm striving for the best grades I can get and work hard to be the best athlete so I can attend the best school for me. In my ninth grade year my GPA was 3.0. As I transition from a public to private school, I will continue to strive for a 4.0 and I'm looking forward to my four years of high school and can't wait for another four years of college.
