Personal Statement

  My name is Eric Block and I attend S.S. Seward Institute in Florida, NY. I am currently in my junior year of high school.  I am 5'9" 165 pounds. I have been playing basketball for most of my life, playing competitively as a point guard since the 4th grade when I played CYO. I then played AAU basketball on several different teams, such as my local St. Joe's team, which is also where I played CYO. I Then played more competitively for the Monroe Crusaders, the Newburgh Zion Lions, and am currently playing for Middletown's Finest 16u Elite Team. I play point guard on my varsity team at Seward. This year I made the All Star Team for Section 9 Class C and was also the Free Throw Champion. Not only am I striving to be a successful athlete, but a successful student athlete as well. I am taking honors classes along with some college classes and my GPA is currently at an 88. Probably the most significant long term goal of mine is to play basketball in college. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to visit your college, if you are interested in me. I love the game of basketball and will always compete, no matter where it takes me in the future. I only hope that with your help, the help of NCSA and my work ethic and love for the game, it can lead me to my dream of playing in college. Thank for for your time and for viewing my profile.
