Personal Statement
My parents bought me my first basketball goal when I was nearly 2 years old. I began playing recreational basketball when I was 4 and began organized AAU basketball when I was fourth grade. Since second grade, I have always aspired to play basketball in college and one day play at the professional level. Knowing that, my parents began to seek professional training when I was 5th grade and strength and conditioning when I was 6th grade. Due to this year round additional training and support, I have developed strong ball handling skills, I have a very high basketball IQ, a soft touch on my shot, I work to find open space for my mid-range jumper, I am quick off the floor for rebounds, quick from end to end, am a good defender, and I like to attack the rim from the wing. I am very coachable and my goal is always to be a team player and the hardest working player for any and every team I am a part of. I try to always encourage my teammates and always lead by example.
Off the court, I apply myself twice as hard when it comes to my academics. I study hard, attend tutoring and maintain my grades. I volunteer in my community and my church at local food and clothing drives, back to school conferences, and more.
My goal is to attend a college where I can continue to push myself in the classroom as well as on the court. I am open to all options and want to find the right college for me at the highest level of competition possible that will allow me to contribute my skills and talents to its program. I pray that God continues to guide my steps to becoming the best student-athlete and role model to all of my peers. I want to make my parents and those who believe in me and who continue to support me in my endeavors proud.
