Personal Statement

I will be graduating from Northwestern High School in the Spring of 2019.

My name Is Will Ross. I am interested in playing soccer at the highest level I am capable of, and in attending a college where I can excel academically and on the field. I am interested in any Division 1, 2 or 3 four year college that can challenge me. I would like to major in a Business/Entrepreneurship program.

I committed to the position of goalkeeper early in my club experience, and have dedicated myself to training both with my team and privately. I have attended many private goalkeeping training sessions, and many summer camps where I have met a lot of great coaches. I have had the experience of playing internationally, attending an ISL camp in Barcelona, Spain, in November of 2014. 

I play goalkeeper for my club team, for my high school team, and for the South Carolina ODP program, where I represented South Carolina at the Region III camp in Alabama. I am very honored to have been named as the starting goalkeeper and Captain of my Northwestern High School JV team when I was a sophomore! 

At Northwestern High School, I am taking honors and AP classes. My GPA as of the end of the spring 2017 semester is 4.1.  I am aware of the NCAA requirements for athletic eligibility and am focused on maintaining an excellent academic record. 

I do have other interests when I am not studying or training - I love performance cars, I am an accomplished snow skier, and I am an Advanced Open Water PADI certified scuba diver! I am not afraid of moguls, sharks, or strikers! My dream car is a Koenigsegg Agera R.
