Personal Statement
For years I have wanted to be a collegiate athlete. I used to play any and all sports every year. I played soccer, volleyball, pickleball, basketball, softball, and anything else that I was able to play and compete! As I got older I realized my love for softball matched my skills for softball. Doing well in a sport that is so hard and so full of failure made me want to do it even more. I remember watching college softball games on TV and picturing myself playing there. Now it has become a reality! If I continue to work work hard, have a great attitude, and be a great teammate - it's possible!
Once in college, my aspirations are to be a teacher. Specifically, I want to be a PE teacher and coach sports. Teaching, coaching, and helping young kids has been something I have done a lot since getting into high school. I love it. Seeing the smiles on their faces when they learn gives me so much joy and happiness. Both of my parents are both teachers so maybe it's just in the family!
Finally, I am an excellent teammate. I work very hard to be a good friend and to build relationships with everyone. Both of my parents were college athletes, and I learned from my parents at an early age that the relationships you make when playing sports are the things that will last forever. You can play softball and you can get your education...but the relationships with the people that come into your life are what will matter the most. :)
